Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness has celebrated on monda, November 21, its tenth anniversary

During these ten years the Institute has had the opportunity to promote and participate in different initiatives, analyses and projects in order to contribute to the development of the competitiveness of the territory.

Orkestra, an innovative initiative promoted by the University of Deusto, has become a reference for cooperation between public and private institutions that have a shared interest in activating research and knowledge in order to spur the future development of our economy and industry.

In the context of this anniversary, Orkestra organized different initiatives which culminated on November 21 in an event that took place in the Kursaal of Donostia. As well as presenting the Orkestra Case prepared by the Harvard Business School, sharing some ideas and reflections regarding the main challenges for the future from a territorial, economic and social perspective.

Jon Azua has participated in the recent report published by the European Investment Bank and the Inclusive Growth and Competitiveness European Group of the World Economic Forum

Last March 21st, was presented the “White Paper on European Inclusive Growth & Competitiveness” report as a result of the collaborative project of the European Inclusive Growth and Competitiveness Lab platform, formed by the members of Advisory Council of Competitiveness of the World Economic Forum, the European Investment Bank and Bruegel Think Tank.

The World Economic Forum has made of the Competitiveness and Social Inclusion one of the key challenges and priority lines of work.

Jon Azua-Enovatinglab has participated in different work sessions with the Government and Argentine entrepreneurs

Invited by the Ministry of Production and the Institute of Industrial Technology of the Argentina, Jon Azua-Enovatinglab has participated in different work sessions with the Argentina Government and entrepreneurs in its debate on a new economic model and the Productive Transformation of the Country.

The presentation “The why and the what of a competitiveness strategy for the growth and inclusive development. Argentina: Take over their future”, from the transformational strategy of the Basque Country over the past 35 years, served as a unifying thread of different seminars, conferences, and workshops taught by Jon Azua, focused in the general strategic transformation and in the specific impetus factors: a) The role of the Science Technology system in the competitiveness; b) Talent, Knowledge and Human Capital; c) Public-private convergent strategies in the productive transformation; d) Leadership, process, and critical vectors in the strategy, shared with the different actors involved.

The Argentine Government comes working in the reformulation of a transformative strategy, incorporating, to its line of debate, different successful experiences throughout the world, among which is the called “Basque Case”.

Collaboration of Jon Azua in the book #Estrategia00006 published by B+I Strategy

In this new and sixth edition of the book #Estrategia00006 published by B+I Strategy, Jon Azua participates, one year more, with the article about the Inclusive Growth and Competitiveness in/from the Shared Value.

The book will be presented today, February 7th, at the Baroja Auditorium – Bizkaia Aretoa (UPV-EHU) in which will take part Pedro Azpiazu, Minister for Finance of Basque Government, Pilar Kaltzada, writer and communication advisor, and Sabin Azua, Partner Director of B+I Strategy.

Bilbao organizes the first Edition of “Cities & Economy Forum” to adopt an attitude as a business city and attract investments

The City Council of Bilbao has organized the first edition of “Cities & Economy Forum”, an international event of maximum level with world business and world leaders in public management personalities, in which Jon Azua (President and Executive of EnovatingLab) has participated.

The Forum has had as priority objectives create necessary conditions to attract investment to Bilbao, stimulate new business opportunities and position Bilbao as reference of the Atlantic Axis in matter of intelligent specialization, as well as reinforce the positioning of Bilbao as economic capital of Basque Country, at the same time that supposed for Bilbao the opportunity of establish synergies with recognized cities by their innovative politics, as are New York, London, Singapore, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Bombay or Morelia (Mexico).

The conferences have tackled, also, the strengths of cities to confront it digital transformation and enhance it innovation, the competitiveness and the internationalization.

Lecture presented by Jon Azua in the institutional act of the General Assembly of the Basque Country Energy Cluster

As guest speaker to the Institutional Act of the General Assembly of the Basque Country Energy Cluster, Jon Azua presented the Conference: “The why and the what of a Basque Energy Clustering Strategy in the Universe of Energy”.

Based on the vision and reality of this cluster of success in the Basque Country, analyzed the main mega-trends and challenges in the world of energy, he focused his speech on new paradigms and its effect on the “new phase of the clustering” more necessary than ever and convergence between the Country-Territory-Cluster strategies in the new space of Global Value Chains.
